WASTE ROUTE CONNECTING THE REACTOR BUILDING AND THE TURBINE BUILDING OF THE CAORSO NUCLEAR POWER STATION
On 5 th September 2018 the KoM (Kick off Meeting), marked the launch of activities for the planning and construction of a Waste Route connecting the Reactor Building to the Turbine Building of the Nuclear Plant.
The activities are the subject of an integrated tender issued by Sogin, a company of the Italian State responsible for the decommissioning of Italian nuclear plants and the management and safety of radioactive waste produced by industrial, research and nuclear medicine activities.
Lotti Ingegneria (Leader), in a Joint Temporary Association with Studio Sani, is the consulting engineering company designated by the Joint Temporary Association of Contractors formed by the companies Planet, Arca and Cosap, which on 10 August 2018 finalized the contract with Sogin.
The project is part of the interventions to be carried out for the adaptation to the Decommissioning process of the Plant which involves dismantling, decontamination, cleaning, modification and new constructions necessary to achieve the purpose.
It is planned the construction of a Waste Route, a route of reduced length, fully developed within a confined environment, necessary to allow the safe and easy transfer of materials from the Reactor Building to the SGM (Materials Management Station), located in the Turbine Building.
